Sony Blue Ray Player and DLNA

Problem:

Hi experts,

Bought a Sony blu-ray player (home theater system) and it comes with DLNA support,
essentially live network access.

Enabled a wireless connection and tried streaming different type of videos from my Windows
media player 11/ 12 versions, even tried Nero Home Media Server.

However, the blu-ray player constantly tell me "There are no playable files".
It does show photos(jpegs) and plays music.

Can anybody please tell me how to get around this?

Solution:

Thanks to *'s pointer tried the following:

<< Easy Way >>
Install PlayOn and for Media handling install VLC Media player.
Guess VLC media player may work directly as well.
Now, am able to play MPEG files and it works a charm.

<< Other Way -- to feel technically challenged >>
Patching PS3 Media Server for Sony Blue-rays
